Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 7:00pm (by appointment)

All roles are open to audition. We are seeking a multi-ethnic ensemble of strong singer/actors featuring 5 men, 5 women, 4 male or female (could be played by either) performers for this production.

* Due to the nature of the material contained within the show, everyone who is auditioning must be at least 18 years old before the first rehearsal.

Auditioners must bring sheet music with them and be prepared to sing 32 bars, but no more than one minute, of a fully memorized Broadway style song that showcases their vocal range and in a style that is consistent with the character you are auditioning for. This should be something that you are very comfortable with, not something you just learned the day before! It is important that you perform your song, not just stand and deliver. .)  Auditioners should mark their selection with a highlighter. An accompanist will be provided. A cappella singing, instrumentals on CD, Tape, iPod, MP3 Player or digital recorder will not be allowed.

Auditioners may also be asked to read from the script and perform a brief dance combination that will be taught at the audition.

Rehearsals will be held three times per week on Sundays from 2:00-5:00pm, Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 7:00-10:00pm beginning Tuesday, August 29th.  Tech week rehearsals will be Sunday through Thursday, October 29 –November 2, 2017.  We do ask that Friday, November 3, 2017 be held in case an additional tech week rehearsal is needed.  The pickup rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

If you are unable to make the mandatory tech week rehearsals and/or pickup rehearsal, we will be unable to cast you in this production.

The Warner Stage Company is a regional community theatre company and does not offer compensation or housing for performers.

CALLBACKS:        Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 7:30pm (if needed)

AUDITIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
ABOUT THE SHOW
A puppet-filled comedy follows a group of twenty-somethings seeking their purpose in big-city life.

Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. The laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, Avenue Q is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues, it is similar to a beloved children's show; a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned.
