I am an upright and electric bass player with on-stage, pit and orchestral experience. I am currently playing bass at Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, CT 2-3 times per year and would be interested in becoming involved in your theatre as well.

I have performed in several recent shows including:

Million Dollar Quartet
Red Hot Momma, the Sophie Tucker Story
Rock and Roll Redemption, the Story of Dion Dimucci

I have 40 years of playing experience in all backgrounds and genres. I was a member of the United States Marine Band at Camp Lejuene, NC as a bass and sousaphone instrumentalist from 1986-1990. Currently, I am a member of the Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble on upright bass.

My formal music education includes:

Hartt School of Music for the gifted, summer lesson series, 1983-84
Berklee College of Music, 1984-86
Armed Forces School of Music 1986

I am free at your convenience to talk with you about my experience and availability to either to fill a position or fill in as a sub at your theatre as needed throughout the year. All of my contact information is listed above for your convenience. References, both personal and music related, can be provided upon request.

Thank you for your consideration.

Thank you so much Richard for your interest. I am the production manager for the Warner Stage Company and work with the production teams to assemble their actors, musicians etc. Each of my music directors book their own musicians for productions but I keep a database of available musicians in our office to assist them. I am currently working with our Music Director for the February show and will pass your information along to him in case he does not have a bass player yet for the production.

Please feel free to contact me directly at swhouk@warnertheatre.org or (860) 489-7180 x164

Sincerely,
Sharon W. Houk
