Concert for Sight
The Lions Club of Harwinton, in an effort to raise funds for research to find cures for various eye-related diseases, is featuring two “Big Shows” in “One Night” for One Ticket at the Harwinton Fairgrounds on July 11, 2009, rain or shine.
We have booked two concert headliners, “The Ultimate Eagles Experience with 7 Bridges” and “The Ultimate Neil Diamond Experience with Tom Sadge”. We believe this will be the entertainment event of the summer.
The Ultimate Neil Diamond Experience with Tom Sadge is back due to popular demand and starts at 5:00 PM. To accommodate Tom Sadge’s audience, the gates will open at 2:00 PM. Everyone loves Tom Sadge’s Vegas style of walking through the audience while singing Neil’s most popular recordings.
The Ultimate Eagles Experience with 7 Bridges starts at 8:00 PM. and is intent on delivering a near replica of a live Eagles performance that is raucous rock and roll one minute and an intimate acoustic show the next. This show runs the gamut of hits and is suitable for music lovers of all ages.
We are encouraging all of our audience — all 4,000 to 5,000 to arrive before 5:00 PM. These early rockers will be entered into a drawing to be held later in the show. Someone will win 2 Sanditz Travel American Airlines tickets to anywhere in the continental United States and a chance to possibly win a brand new 2009 New Milford Volkswagen VW.
James Patrick, executive director of The Warner Theatre is committed to seeing that quality entertainment is brought to Northwest Connecticut, so they have agreed to help us sell tickets. You can contact The Warner Theatre Box Office by calling 860-489-7180 or online at www.warnertheatre.org. If you purchase tickets prior to the day of the concert you will get a $5.00 discount or $25.00 per ticket. The ticket price the day of the concerts will be $30.00 for anyone 12 years or older, and children 11 and under will be admitted free.
We also took this opportunity to get the local community involved by offering a commission to charitable organizations to sell tickets. Everyone needs funds these days to make their programs a success, so we thought we would share our profits with them.
The concerts will be held at Harwinton Fairgrounds on Locust Road, and we hope that this will be the continuation of a long list of top entertainers to come to the area. This beautiful setting in the foothills of the Berkshires is a perfect venue with a natural amphitheater for such events, and is easy access from Waterbury and Hartford.
Bring your folding chairs, blankets, coolers, picnics and enjoy a beautiful evening listening to Neil Diamond classics or your Eagles’ favorites. Families are encouraged to bring the children, because they will love and enjoy the music as much as you will. Food will be available. No pets please.
