TORRINGTON
, CT -
The Warner Theatre, 68 Main Street, announces the Broadway smash
Seussical: The Musical
will wrap up the theatre’s 75th Anniversary season with a theatrical extravaganza which includes hundreds of actors, special effects galore and one amazing story that pays tribute to the witty, wild and whimsical world of Dr. Seuss.
Based on the universally popular writings of
Theodore Giesel
a.k.a. Dr. Suess,
Suesical: The Musical
, directed by Julian Krom (
Cinderella, Evita
) with musical direction by Dan Ringuette and choreography by Sheila Waters-Fucci, challenges the audience to just imagine a world where anything's possible - an elephant in a tree, a person too tiny to see, a heroic child and dreams running wild! When chaos erupts in the Jungle of Nool, it will take the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, and a gaggle of characters to bring harmony back to their world.
Conceived by the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens (lyrics and book) and Stephen Flaherty (music and book), along with Eric Idle of Monty Python fame, the Grammy-nominated score includes pop, gospel, blues and R & B. Adults and children of all ages will delight in this fantastical tale from the world of Dr. Seuss!

About the Warner Theatre
Built by Warner Brothers Studios and opened in 1931 as a movie palace, the Warner Theatre was described then as “Connecticut’s Most Beautiful Theatre.” Damaged extensively in a flood, the Warner was slated for demolition in the early 1980s until the non-profit Northwest Connecticut Association for the Arts (NCAA) was founded and purchased the theatre. The Warner reopened as a performing arts center in 1983, and restoration of the lobbies and auditorium was completed in November 2002. Today, the Warner is in operation year-round with more than 125 performances and some 80,000 patrons passing through its doors each season. NCAA’s mission is to preserve the Warner Theatre as an historic landmark, enhance its reputation as a center of artistic excellence and a focal point of community involvement, and satisfy the diverse cultural needs of the region.
